Being present

NOW we begin.

When we start from a place of presence we start with an openness to what may or may not come. It teaches us to be open to the new and receive what is sent to us. So as you join me on the mat, start from The Now and be open for all that comes. When I teach I talk about no comparrisons, the first thing when you think of is to not compare to others. But what about the comarrison of yourself to the last time you sat on your mat, entered a certain posture or started to breathe. It's in our nature to try and imporve ourselves but this ends up forming a block, what happens when we know we're not going to improve, we're ill, or injured, or pregnant? Do we stop practicing. When I used to feel rough I'd stop practicing due to the fear of failure, or I'd give up as it may not have felt as good as yesterday or last month, but yoga is not about this, its not about the external striving and that need to compare is just another layer of emotion to work through and understand as to what drives you to constantly want to be better. Yoga starts now, every second of every day is a new begining and the old has passed. The future never comes, the past has been and gone, be the now as this is the only true place that exists. #yogasutras #woodbridge #suffolk #yoga #patanjali #meditation #yogaeverydamnday #yogaphilosophy #yogainspiration #beherenow #yogateachertraining #yogateacher #pranayama #ahimsa #yogalife #ytt #compassionate #namaste #practicewhatyoupreach #yogi #peacefulwarrior #philosophy #befriendyourself #bekindtoyourself #onestepatatime #yogini #regulateyournervoussystem #recoveringperfectionist #practicecompassion #restore
